Brookfield is bungalow country: brick, close-set, built mostly between the wars, with about 70 percent of the housing stock predating 1960. The Chicago bungalow was designed with a limestone belt course and limestone accents already, so a carved limestone address marker is not a new idea on these houses, it is the missing piece being put back.
We install one thing and only one thing: an 8 inch by 16 inch marker cut from limestone 3 inches thick, with the numbers deep-carved into the face, set permanently into the brick of the house. The price is $700 to $750 installed in Brookfield and covers the stone, the carving, the masonry work and the cleanup.

No. The opening is cut cleanly to size and the stone is set with proper masonry technique, the same way lintels and sills have been set in brick walls for a century. The finished install is weather-tight.
One visit of a few hours. The stone is carved ahead of time, so installation day is only the masonry work.
