Oak Park has one of the densest collections of Prairie School and American Foursquare homes anywhere in the country, and the brick on those houses was chosen to last. A carved limestone marker is the material those facades were designed alongside: it reads as original rather than added. Roughly 70 percent of Oak Park's housing stock was built before 1960, so most homes here have the solid masonry wall a marker sets into properly.
We install one thing and only one thing: an 8 inch by 16 inch marker cut from limestone 3 inches thick, with the numbers deep-carved into the face, set permanently into the brick of the house. The price is $700 to $750 installed in Oak Park and covers the stone, the carving, the masonry work and the cleanup.

No. The opening is cut cleanly to size and the stone is set with proper masonry technique, the same way lintels and sills have been set in brick walls for a century. The finished install is weather-tight.
One visit of a few hours. The stone is carved ahead of time, so installation day is only the masonry work.
