The Signorile Family

A Stonemason's Grandson

Mateo Signorile's grandfather cut stone in Italy. That is the trade Mateo works in today, and it is the reason this company does one thing properly instead of twenty things adequately.

Stone was always the material people chose when they wanted something to outlast them. It does not fade, peel, or work loose the way painted numbers and stick-on figures do. The marker set into your brick will still be sharp and readable long after everything else on the front of the house has been replaced.

One craftsman. One trade. Carved by hand, set into the wall, and left there.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Will cutting into my brick damage the wall?

No. The opening is cut cleanly to size and the stone is set with proper masonry technique, the same way lintels and sills have been set in brick walls for a century. The finished install is weather-tight.

My house doesn't have an old address stone. Can you still install one?

Yes. Most installs are into plain brick with no existing stone. If you do have an old, worn address stone, we can replace it with a new one in the same spot.

How long does installation take?

Typically one visit of a few hours. The stone is carved ahead of time, so installation day is just the masonry work.

What areas do you serve?

Broadview and Chicago's western suburbs. We have a page for each town we serve: Oak Park, River Forest, Elmhurst, La Grange, La Grange Park, Western Springs, Brookfield, Riverside, Berwyn, Westchester, Hinsdale and Broadview. Not listed but nearby? Text a photo and your town and we'll confirm.

Who actually does the work?

Mateo Signorile, and only Mateo. His grandfather was a stonemason in Italy and it is the same trade. He carves the stone, he cuts the brick, and he sets it himself, so the person who quotes you is the person who does the work.

How do I get an exact price?

Text a photo of the front of your house to (708) 551-4270. Most homes are $700 to $750 installed, and we'll confirm before any work starts.
